Karen Carter’s Deep Dive is a memoir in poetry centered on healing, courage, and hope. Through deeply personal poems, Carter traces a journey from grief and trauma toward resilience and renewal.
The collection moves from the safe space of therapy in Oklahoma to the quiet sanctuary of a front porch in rural North Carolina, through the isolation of teaching during COVID, and ultimately to the shores of North Carolina’s Outer Banks. Along the way, Carter explores sorrow, redemptive suffering, the restorative power of the natural world, and the strength it takes to move forward.
Deep Dive is ultimately a story of rising from the depths of trauma, reclaiming the present, and discovering hope for what lies ahead.
Following the reading, stick around for an interactive Q&A session and the chance to purchase your own signed copy of Deep Dive. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to connect with a poet whose words are already making waves in the literary world.
